Prince Eugen Medal

Designer Jacob Jensen awarded the Prince Eugen Medal.

The Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Sylvia presented the Prince Eugen medal to the world-famous Danish designer Jacob Jensen at the Stockholm Castle on Tuesday 14 November 2006.

As stated in the motivation, Jacob Jensen is awarded the medal for outstanding artistic achievement.

The Prince Eugen Medal was founded by the Swedish King Gustaf V in connection with Prince Eugen’s 80th birthday in 1945 and is awarded each year. With this honour Jacob Jensen will join two of his former teachers from the School of Arts and Craft, Hans Wegner and Jørn Utzon, who previously received the medal.
